Sherazade Design and Belly Dance is located in Mankato, Minnesota. I perform in the surrounding area and Minneapolis. I am available to be hired for performance Bellydance, sword, fire dance and more, workshops (bellydance, sword, veil, tray, balancing) and teaching (bellydance, sword, veil, tray, balancing and more). My style of bellydance is fusion, which incorporates the many styles of bellydance as well as other forms of dance such as Persian. I also incorporate some Shaolin sword form in my sword dance just because I believe a sword should be treated as a weapon and their is a small possibility that the Shaolin Monks were influenced by a Persian man so its history may have been influenced by Middle Eastern or Persian Dance. As with much in Middle Eastern Dance it is hard to say what influenced it, was influenced by it or its exact history. I dance with single and double sword, zills, tambourine, veil, tray (candles, fruit, flowers, ect.), mug, and when the location allows fire dance with fire poi and fire staff. I am currently also studying Persian Dance as well as Middle Eastern Dance.
